FREE RIDES

MEDICAL DIAL-A-RIDE

Door2Door provides 17,000 one way trips annually to hospitals, doctors’ and dentists’ offices, optometrists and ophthalmologists, podiatrists, psychologists, and the list goes on. Rides may be booked up to two weeks in advance. The number of rides we can provide on any given day is limited, and trips are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis. GROCERY SHOPPING

We operate dozens of shopping shuttles each week. Riders enjoy door-to-door service to the grocery store, and Door2Door drivers will carry up to shopping 5 bags for each rider. Participating communities are: Somerville, Cambridge, Medford and Everett.

Requirements:

  • Cambridge, Everett, and Medford residents must be 62 years of age or older.
  • Somerville residents must be 62 years of age or older or have a mobility impairment.

COUNCILS ON AGING MEAL SITES

Door2Door provides transportation to Councils on Aging meal programs for the communities of Somerville, Cambridge, Medford and Winchester.

Requirements:

  • All participants must be 62 years of age or older.
  • Somerville and Cambridge Residents must contact Somerville-Cambridge Elder Services at ((617) 628-2601 to make arrangements.
  • Winchester residents should contact the Winchester Council on Aging at (781) 721-7136 to make arrangements.
  • Medford residents may call SCM directly for rides, but must contact the Medford Council on Aging at (781) 396-6010 to order their meals.


PAUL'S RIDE

The Paul’s Ride program takes riders to visit a loved one in the hospital or nursing home. This program is available throughout the Greater Boston area.

Requirement:

  • Must be 62 years of age or older or have a mobility impairment.
